Custom moodlight project, Solihull.
Never too many mood lights...
Given mostly creative freedom in this house I wanted to create the main mood lighting centrepiece as unique as possible. Above the concealed cistern we essentially constructed an additional trough to hold two Philips Hue play bars. The area was painted white and topped with a frosted piece of acrylic. A tile trim finished the front edge and this also makes it removable with a small knife-trim.
as the panel had to sit on a ledge to support it we trialed the idea of masking off the centre section of the acrylic and spraying the surround in white paint. This stopped the transparent nature of the acrylic showing the unsightly surround ledge. It worked really well and now the glow from this custom lightbox can compliment the loo and vanity under lights and woo visitors with any colour or brightness upon entry. This was my favourite design aspect of this room.
