This master ensuite was part of a large and high-spec, twin remodel in Harvington. The owner was finishing a full-building refurbishment on the property and wanted a strong statement to suit. It couldn't be too masculine and equal appeal to a 'His & Hers' themed space.

I took that and set to work. The building was old with a cottage/barn-type feel. Situated in Harvington and surrounded by countryside I suggested earthly colours with contemporary features. The matt green fitted furniture from Calypso was perfect. Plenty of storage and premium quality. Atop this was a 30mm quartz surface, custom cut to fit perfectly. It's simply exquisite with the matt sunken basin within. The wall-mounted Durovit toilet has under lights fully automated with the main lighting control. The lighting is by Philips Hue. A motion sensor can be configured for up to ten scenes based on activation times throughout the day. All lights in the ceiling, shower wall, and niches can be dimmed and temperature shade adjusted to suit tastes. These can be ap-programmed but there is also a manual, multi-function dimmer switch for total physical control. The Alexa unit can also control all the lighting, as well as music, tasks, etc. The shower area is divided by a custom hinged door and side panels leading into the wetroom floor. Another custom-made component providing a neat 2.3m tray former with a unique double-linear drain design instead of the normal envelope angled cuts.

Each side has its own digital shower, two-outlet showerheads with remote controls by Vado meaning you can set the shower to your desired temperature before entry. In the centre is a handheld joint mixer shower outlet. A huge lit, feature shower niche serves the area with a satin, solid surface shelf for a crisp, low-maintenance platform. The gorgeous plantation hexagonal porcelain tiles really compliment the surrounding slate/dark stone/iron-feel porcelain tiles. The floor tiles are again porcelain 600mm square, and the whole area is kind-underfoot due to electric underfloor heating by Warmup, digitally and remotely controlled by their newest, most sleek version of thermostat yet. Not wanting to waste any valuable space we included a feature lit towel niche with glass shelf to really give that luxury look.

The freestanding bath is by Ademsez and a classy matt finish was picked. The brassware throughout is by Crosswater. Fully designed and project-managed by us from start to finish. Timescale - 3 weeks.
