Sword display niche with smart moodlighting.

During building of this extension in Stourbridge, a recces left from the original patio doors provided a useful space. On the kitchen side it facilitated the pop-up kitchen extractor hood, and the other side needed to allow access to the workings of that unit and ductwork.
 
Alongside that functionality, an opportunity was presented to have a display feature in the dining section wall. The Lord of The Rings movie sword replicas are mounted on a MDF panel wrapped in a crushed-velvet curtain(!) A surround frame was mounted in the recess to create a drop-gap spacer for the LED lighting strip. The panel then simply hooks on to a ledge to give the impression of floating. The LED strip is tuneable between warm and cool white, smart-app controlled, and of course - dimmable to create the right mood.
